Wally led the Penn Manor High School basketball team to the Lancaster County Championships in both his Jr & Sr years. In 1976 Walker led the University of Virginia Cavaliers to their first Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament Championship and its first NCAA tournament bid. Wally in the 1976 Atlantic CoastĀ Tournament was the tournament's most valuable player. During his career at Virginia he scored 1,849 points and in the 1975-1966 season averaged 22.1 points per game. In the 1976 NBA draft Wally was the 5th pick by the Portland Trail Blazers. He played in the NBA from 1976 to 1984 with Portland, Seattle, and Houston, and was a 2 x NBA champion with 1977 Portland and 1979 Seattle. Following his career as a player he served as President and General Manger of theĀ SeattleSonics.
