In 2024 the Pequea Valley boys team finished third in Section 3 of the Lancaster-Lebanon League and ninth in District III. This year with some experienced runners returning, Coach Keith Andrews sees an opportunity to improve in both league and district competitions.
Key returners Jonah Zink, Josh Reinford and Aiden Hofmann have goals to better their '24 individual times and compete strongly as a team against Annville-Cleona, Octorara and Lancaster Catholic.
The three runners are busy student-athletes. Zink is a two-sport athlete in the same season -- cross country and soccer (with Coach Andrew’s approval), as well as participating in the school band and choir. He plans to become a teacher.
Josh Reinford competes in two sports, cross country and track and field. He plans to study engineering.
Hofmann competes in basketball and participates in choir, the school musical and his youth group worship.
After a 3-2 record in Section 3 of the league and a fourth place finish in the district, the Pequea Valley girls team has eyes on improving these results and qualifying for the state meet.
Under Andrews, they have been becoming stronger runners and improving their times. Ressler and Zook, experienced runners, team up with incoming freshman Gates to spearhead the team to reach their goals.
Ressler also competes in track and field and says she plans to study sports nutrition in college. She also is an outdoors enthusiast enjoying hiking and biking.
Zook also competes in track and field while playing in the school bands, being stage manager for the school musical and participating in
student council. She looks forward to studying engineering in college.
Gates will compete in track and field in addition to singing in the school choir and participating in Fellow of Christian Athletes.
