A new coach will lead Penn Manor cross country this year.  Emily Massage (right) is a former cross country runner at Millersville University. She sat down with Lancaster County Sports Hall of Fame at the LNP | Lancaster Online Media Day at the downtown offices to talk about her new role.

Massage says "she's excited to lead the teams in her first season after competing on courses throughout  Pennsylvania. She believes her experience competing will be a benefit and transfer to her students. Massage says, "I'm excited and looking forward to this opportunity."  She believes the "team has a great work ethic and a goal is to qualify for States"

Two members of the Comets girls cross country team joining her at media day were Clair Roberts (left) and Greta Heitland, both juniors.

Roberts echoed her coach, saying "a goal is definitely to make States as a team and individual. She's looking forward to this new chapter in Comet cross country. Heitland says she "would like to improve her personal best time," and when she's on the course she "takes it a mile at a time."

The boys and girls teams have been keeping in shape over the summer, working out and are looking forward to this new era.
