Looking around the conference room during a preseason media interview, Kylie Collins (top photo) sees teammates who have been with her on the soccer field for many years.

“A lot of us have been together for a while,” the first-team all-Lancaster-Lebanon League forward notes, as fellow seniors Cait Mummert (bottom left) and Adison Ulmer (bottom right) nod in agreement. “So we want to have a last good, successful season together.”

How successful will it be? Collins, who has battled back from injuries to be a big scorer, and her teammates want to go as far as they can in 2025.

Last year, Penn Manor finished 10-8-1, losing in the first round of the district playoffs.

Now, Coach Chris Davidson is enthused about his big class of 11 seniors, “veterans who are really looking to make their mark this year,” as he puts it.

And Davidson is confident his seniors “can put everything else aside and say, ‘We’re going to lead this team this year.’

“They’re very clear that they want to help the program and leave a legacy -- with more than just wins.”

Mummert, a left-footed outside back, says her team goal is “hopefully making it to States and improving as a team overall,” while building a good relationship for younger players.

Asked what her main role will be, Ulmer says cheerfully, “Running! Being an older girl, it’s just setting a good example” for the younger players and helping the team any way she can.

Davidon, in his second year at the helm, is seeing the Penn Manor girls’ soccer program growing, from around two dozen players two  years ago to some three dozen now.
