Olivia Hirst contributes her “backstroke specialist” abilities to a powerhouse Elizabethtown girls swim team.  She competes in the 100-yard backstroke and the backstroke portion of the medley relay.  Additionally, she swims the 100-yard freestyle and the 400-yard freestyle relay.

Olivia has qualified for the District 3 meet for three years as a backstroke member of the 200-yard medley relay.

This year’s E-town team, with some good upcoming freshmen, looks to repeat as Section 2 champions, despite losing some key seniors from last year’s championship team.

Individually, Olivia hopes to drop her time in the 100-yard backstroke to 102 seconds or even 101. Currently her best time is 103 seconds..

Besides swimming at E-town, Olivia swims indoors at the E-town Aquatics Club and in the summer for the Mount Joy Swim Team.

In school, Olivia favors English class while enjoying both literature and writing. One lifetime goal she has is to write a book of “Fantasy and Romance.”  She also likes her science class, especially when addressing environmental issues.

Olivia plays the piano for recreation and likes to play “Zelda Music” from the video game “Legends of Zelda.”

While in college, Oliva plans to study Environmental Engineering at either Lehigh University or Penn State University.

“Life is short and the world is wide” is an inspirational quote to include traveling in her future.
