Ben Faranda-Diedrich (top photo) sees the posters of past Manheim Township star players in the locker room every day as he and other Blue Streaks prepare for the 2025 season.
The pictures, and words of exhortation accompanying them, “are just to sort of remind us: ‘This is what Manheim Township stands for, and this is what we strive to be,’” says Faranda-Diedrich, a senior midfielder.
For him and his fellow seniors, like defender Gian Bagapura (bottom left) and goalkeeper Miles Minnich (bottom right), 2025 is a chance to end their careers on a winning note.
Or, as one said, the goal this year “is to definitely bring home some silverware” -- as in a championship trophy.
Last year, the Blue Streaks were 9-10, winning against Cedar Crest, Reading and Cumberland Valley but finishing fourth, at 4-6, in L-L Section 1.
A pair of top-notch rivals they’re shooting for this year are Hempfield and Warwick, the Township seniors say.
The Streaks have home and away games against the two teams in September.
But a lot of the Manheim Township senior players have logged minutes on the varsity, so they have the experience and feel confident for 2025, the players add.
