Crusader Looks to Rebound from Injury in Leading Lancaster Catholic

Emma Stefanow

Near the end of her ’24-’25 basketball season at Lancaster Catholi, Emma Stefanow (shooting guard/small forward) had a serious ACL tear in her knee.  Requiring surgery, this injury began a nearly yearlong recovery plan.

After the surgery, she endured 6 months of doctor-prescribed “muscle/knee” physical therapy and now regularly sees a professional athletic trainer to help her get back on the court, hopefully by Christmas, in this her senior year.

Stefanow looks back on this “off the court” experience with some very grateful memories of the support given her by her parents and teammates.

When looking at this year’s season, Emma sees a young and strong team with great energy.  She says the team chemistry is amazing.  With LCHS having a very successful history in girls basketball, Emma has high hopes to join the team for this season.

Emma predicts there will be some key games against Manheim Central and Northern Lebanon in the Lancaster-Lebanon League.

In school, Emma is involved in “Lead” club which teaches leadership and how to deal with life lessons.  She also participates in “Respect for Life” club, which supports mothers who need help.

After high school, Emma plans to attend college and study Physical Therapy.  Her experience with this past year’s injury has emboldened her interest in the profession.
