Kyler Buckwalter knows success. He just finished his senior season as a member of Lancaster Mennonite’s Lancaster-Lebanon League championship basketball team. He hopes to carry that success to the baseball diamond.
This spring Mennonite will field a small squad with just six seniors. Kyle sees two freshmen who could compete immediately.
Kyle, as the catcher on the team, thinks Mennonite has the best pitching staff in years with ace Jack Snader backed up by Ian Yen and freshman Asher KenKelen.
Key Section 4 opponents on LM’s schedule are Pequea Valley and Annville.
Kyler’s baseball goal includes getting LM to the district playoffs and beyond.
In school, Kyle’s favorite class is gym, which one would expect for an athlete who is involved year-round in baseball, basketball, golf, bowling and weightlifting. At LM he also is a leader in Federation of Christian Athletes. And in his spare time, Kyler works at Escape on Queen, the fun escape room in Lancaster city.
Next year Kyler plans to study business at Waynesburg University.
His favorite quote is: “All glory goes to God!”
