Doug Kraft began his basketball coaching career by serving as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Conestoga Valley. A Millersville University grad, he was the head coach at Thaddeus Stevens for two seasons before becoming an assistant coach at East Stroudsburg for four seasons.

Kraft moved to Marywood University, serving as the head coach for three seasons, from 1998 to 2001. He helped the Pacers to their first postseason appearance and was named the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Coach of the Year.

A seven-season stint as associate head coach at DeSales University followed. From 2008 to 2010, he was assistant coach at Division I St. Francis University.

Since 2012, Kraft has coached the AAU Cats, a team that gets players in front of the eyes of college basketball coaches. Since he became head coach of the Cats, Kraft has seen 27 of his players go on to play college basketball at all levels.
