Art Harrington coached track & field and cross-country at Solanco HS with great success for 29 seasons. His boys’ track teams were 211-36 and won three District III titles. The girls’ track teams were 143-8 with two District III titles.
Harrington’s boys’ cross-country teams won 350 meets while losing 90 and brought home two District III team titles. The girls’ cross-country team, which he started in 1985, were 263-12 with the Golden Mares winning State Championships in 1990 and 1997 and five District III titles. The girls had a 177-meet win streak when he retired.
Harrington also coached track at F&M College and Stevens Institute of Technology.
