George Katchmer was the Millersville University football coach from 1954-69, compiling a record of 58-73-3. He originated the Lancaster Quarterback Club for the L-L League’s high school football coaches. He was the organization’s first president.
The George Katchmer Award was given to Lancaster’s Most Valuable Player in the War of the Roses football game against York. Katchmer also wrote several football coaching books.
